마추픽추(Machu Picchu)는 페루(Peru)에 위치한 15세기 잉카(Inc) 제국의 유적지로 1983년 유네스코 세계유산(UNESCO World Heritage Site)에 등재되었다. 영어와 스페인어 모두 Picchu의 첫번째 c를 묵음으로 발음하여 주로 마추피추라고 부르며, 영어권에서는 마추피추 또는 매추피추로 부르며, 스페인어로 마추피추외에도 마추픽추라고 부르는 경우가 있다.
잉카는 마야(Maya) 문명과 달리 글자(written language)가 없으며 19세기까지 유럽인의 방문이 없어 유적지에 문자 기록이 없다. 대부분의 학자들은 마추피추는 잉카의 황제 파차쿠티(Pachacuti, 1438–1472)의 영지로 건축된 것으로 보고 있다. 잉카 문명은 잉카의 잃어버린 도시(Lost City of the Incas)로 상징된다. 잉카는 1450년 경 세워져서 1세기 후에 스페인이 정복한 시점에서 버려졌다. 마추피추는 1981년 페루 역사유적지(Peruvian Historic Sanctuary)로 선정되었으며, 1983년 유네스코 세계유산(UNESCO World Heritage Site)에 등재되었고, 2007년 인터넷 여론조사에 의해 신 세계7대 불가사의(New Seven Wonders of the World)에 선정되었다.
