누구를 위하여 종은 울리나(For Whom the Bell Tolls)는 어니스트 헤밍웨이(Ernest Hemingway)가 1940년 스페인 내전을 소재로 하여 쓴 소설이다. 영화는 1943년 샘 우드(Sam Wood) 감독이 민들고 잉그리드 버그만(Ingrid Bergman)과 게리 쿠퍼(Gary Cooper)가 주연하였으며 제 16 회 미국 아카데미상 수상식에서 Katina Paxinou가 여우조연상(Best Actress in a Supporting Role)을 수상하였으며, 최우수작품상(Outstanding Motion Picture), 게리쿠퍼(Gary Cooper)가 최우수 남우주연상(Best Actor), 잉그리드 버그만(Ingrid Bergman)이 최우수 여우주연상(Best Actress)에 노미네이트 되었으며, Best Cinematography(Color), Best Art Direction (Color), Interior Decoration, Best Film Editing, Best Music (Music Score of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture) 등에도 노미네이트 돠었다.
